Hail to the king!!

The bed of bedsWell there comes a time in a man's life where he decides it's time to get that obscenely large 50" HD capable, plasma television... I'm not there yet. Instead I went out and got a bed. So by now you're probably asking yourselves (Cass & possibly Eric, the only two people who know this blog exists) why does a bed justify it's own entry in a blog... because it truly is just as amazing as that 50" HD capable plasma television. I'm talking about the Sterling Silver Lining 7500 with the memory foam inserts, king size of course. The bed for when only the best will do.

Now up until recently I've always taken a good night's sleep for granted but as our last mattress slowly began deteriorating I started noticing just how precious it is to wake up feeling rested and ready to take on the day. So now let's talk about how this puppy rides... IT IS LIKE SLEEPING ON A F%#KING CLOUD!!! No lie, it's like the best sleep you've ever had in you life. And here's the best part, you don't have to share it with anyone. The bed is so big you forget that the wife and possibly two cats are also lying there with you... somewhere... within a six foot radius.

So just how soft and how big is this R.E.M wrangler? Well the "softness" factor of the bed is a little hard to describe sense it's memory foam on top. Let's just say the bed is so soft that when you go to jump on the bed you don't really bounce... at all, it's almost like you stick to the bed as soon as you make contact. The foam just grabs you and doesn't let go... (tearing). Ok, now for size. It's a standard king size which is 76" wide by 80" long. A quick mathematical operation result in a total sleeping area of 6080 sq in or about 42.2 Sq ft. Yeah, that means this covers enough surface area to Park a Mini Cooper on.

The wife and I have been the proud owners of this horizontal expanse for almost two weeks and can say with resounding confidence that it is the best purchase we have made since getting married. So to all the people out there ogling at the latest in television viewing technology, remember that sure the picture is amazing and you can now see the hair growing out of Jack Nicholson's ear but won't give you anything to really sleep on.

Ok, so the natural question to any new owner of a memory foam bed is have you tried jumping on it while balancing a full glass of red wine on the far end?
